Revealed: World’s Top 10 Restaurants

Each year, the elite of the gastronomic world gather to a glittering ceremony held to announce and celebrate the world’s 50 best restaurants. Organized by Restaurant magazine and sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, The World's 50 Best Restaurants is considered the Oscars of restaurants, and once a restaurant reaches the upper echelons of the list, its already sparse reservations become exceedingly difficult to come by.

The list, which can be viewed on www.theworlds50best.com, is an annual snapshot of the experiences and opinions of The Diners Club® World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an influential group of over 900 international leaders in the restaurant industry, each selected for their expert opinion of the international restaurant scene.

The Academy comprises 26 separate regions around the world. Each region has its own panel of 36 members of food critics, chefs, restaurateurs and highly regarded ‘foodies’ each of whom has seven votes. Of the seven votes, at least three of which must be used to recognize restaurants outside of their region.

Here is a quick look at the top ten on this year’s list:
